The James M. Anderson Center for Health Systems Excellence, in conjunction with the Academy for Healthcare Improvement community, invites researchers, clinicians, patients/families and others working at the front lines of improving health to an inter-professional research and methodology conference focused on co-production of healthcare services.

Join them as they work together to understand the science of partnering with patients, both adults and children, to improve health and healthcare.

Researchers, clinicians, patients/families and others working at the front lines of improving health will learn about the emerging field of co-production of healthcare services. These efforts are called by many names – patient centeredness, patient engagement and patient experience – yet each works to ensure effective partnerships between patients and healthcare teams.

This conference will explore the principles, methods and measurement of co-production, as well as the implications and challenges for healthcare delivery system design and health professional development.

A variety of engaging workshops will be offered that include time dedicated to hands-on, interactive application of the methods being learned. Workshops will include topics such as:

  • Shared Decision-Making
  • Patient-Reported Measures
  • N-of-1 Trials to Improve Outcomes
  • Social Networking and Social Network Analyses
  • Methods to Create a Patient/Stakeholder-Prioritized Research Agenda
