Postdoctoral Fellowship in Implementation Science at UCSD and UCLA
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellowship position under the direction of Dr. Anna Lau in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, Los Angeles or Dr. Lauren Brookman-Frazee in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego and the Child & Adolescent Services Research Center (CASRC).
Drs. Lau and Brookman-Frazee are PIs on an NIH-funded multi-site study, known locally as “4KEEPS: Knowledge Exchange on Evidence-based Practice Sustainment” (http://4keeps.psych.ucla.edu/). This study examines the impact of a major policy change mandating the use of EBPs and organizational context and therapist attitudes and adaptations as determinants of EBP sustainment in Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH), the nation’s largest public mental health system.
The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with the research team in the collection and analysis of qualitative (semi-structured interviews) and quantitative (administrative claims, program manager and therapist surveys, observational coding) data and assisting with manuscript and grant application preparation. The fellow will contribute to our latest study developing a pragmatic quality assessment to index the sustainment of EBP delivery throughout LACDMH.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in mental health services or dissemination and implementation research. Strong applicants will have experience in evidence-based treatment for children, mixed qualitative and quantitative methods, and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. Appointments will be made for one year, with a second-year reappointment expected based on review of the fellow’s progress. The fellowship is anticipated to be available starting July 1, 2019, although the start date is flexible.
Interested applicants should submit (1) a letter of interest; (2) CV; (3) reprints of three publications or other scholarly writing; and (4) three letters of recommendation to Dr. Lau (email@example.com ) and Dr. Brookman-Frazee (firstname.lastname@example.org ).
