The College of Pharmacy at the University of Kentucky (College) invites applications for a qualified implementation scientist at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor for a 12-month appointment to maintain, coordinate, and integrate research on implementation science (IS) in the area of alcohol and substance abuse disorders (ASUDs). The College has a long history of excellence in basic, clinical and applied sciences research across its departments of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacy Practice and Science. These efforts span the translational research continuum, focusing on health issues that impact patients at the local and national level.  The College is one of six colleges within the academic medical center of the University with many opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborative research.  The University boasts three renowned research centers with specific focus in the area of ASUDs. The College seeks to grow the research enterprise by strategically investing in the area ASUDs.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have a PharmD, MD, or PhD in a related field; a developing or sustained record of using varied IS methods designed to achieve the overall objectives of IS applied to the prevention and treatment of ASUD; a developing or sustained record of scholarly achievement in IS as appropriate based on rank; and a strong track record of acquiring extramural research funding or potential to acquire extramural funding as appropriate based on rank.

Additional requirements include excellent interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strength in team building; a commitment to development of and scholarly participation in IS research programs at the College of Pharmacy and the University of Kentucky, and, a collaborative orientation toward University, community and state activities that enhance the health of the citizens of Kentucky.
