The University of Washington Department of Global Health is accepting applications for the Implementation Science in Global Health Summer Institute.

The Implementation Science in Global Health Summer Institute is a one to two week intensive course that provides participants with the opportunity to get an introduction to the field – or for those with an introductory understanding – to gain advanced training in implementation science methods and their application.

The Fundamentals of Implementation Science track provides course participants with an introduction to the emerging field of implementation research by outlining a framework of methods that are applied to improving implementation (including applied engineering, management tools, health systems, and policy research).

Newly introduced this year, the Advanced Training in Implementation Science track goes deeper into formal methods from the field through didactic teaching and applied learning, and is appropriate for those who have previously attended the Fundamentals of Implementation Science course. Both tracks include a variety of didactic formats including interactive lectures, group discussion on application of implementation science methods, and experiential case studies from global health leaders focusing on implementation successes and failures 10-20 years post innovation.

A second week of mentored protocol development is available for select participants who are working on developing an implementation research protocol.

Intended Audience: This course will be of interest to researchers, policy makers, funders, and practitioners working in low and middle income settings who are interested in an intensive introduction to implementation science, or for those who have taken the intensive course, advanced training in implementation science methods and their application.
