Medicine: Mind the Gap, an NIH Webinar Series
Date(s): June 15, 2017, 11:00am-12:00pm ET
Presented by: William M. Vollmer

The widespread adoption of electronic medical records (EMRs) has created enormous possibilities for embedding prevention activities into the fabric of care and for conducting research to formally evaluate various prevention strategies. William M. Vollmer, PhD, will provide some examples of the types of prevention activities that can be fostered using EMRs, provide some historical perspective on the challenges of using EMRs to conduct research more generally, and give specific examples of prevention-oriented research that heavily relies on EMRs.
