Director of Implementation and Quality Improvement at Judge Baker Children’s Center [open until filled]

The Director of Implementation and Quality Improvement will oversee and work on multiple initiatives focused on the implementation and sustainability of best and evidence-based practices and programs for children and families at the local, state, and national levels. The Director will develop and grow the Quality Care Initiative in four main identified strategic areas: (1) purveyor of evidence-based practices, (2) consultation and technical assistance, (3) quality improvement initiatives, and (4) best practice model development. The primary responsibilities of this position will be to identify opportunities to grow and develop these areas of work that includes securing external grants and contracts, overseeing all implementation and quality improvement activities, and promoting and utilizing quality improvement strategies to improve performance and outcomes of programs both internal and external to JBCC. Further, the Director will lead efforts to expand and strengthen JBCC’s role in the field of implementation science. The Director will be a part of JBCC’s senior management team and report directly to the CEO. This leadership position requires attention to detail, teamwork, flexibility, multitasking, and strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. It is an excellent fit for an individual who has energy, vision, and the desire to have a major impact on service systems for children and families in need. This position is eligible for a faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Build the capacity of JBCC and develop expertise in implementation science and quality improvement by keeping abreast of developments in the field and developing strong collaborations with local and national experts
• Develop expertise in the dissemination, implementation and sustainability of evidence-based and best practices in children’s mental health
• Work to establish JBCC as a regional and national leader in the implementation and sustainability of evidence-based and best practices
• Identify grants, contracts and external sources of funding to sustain and grow the Quality Care Initiative
• Cultivate, develop, and supervise an internal Implementation Team
• Work collaboratively as part of an Implementation Team, reporting to the CEO
• Lead the JBCC HIPAA Compliance Committee and act as the HIPAA Compliance Officer
• Liaison to Internal Review Board (IRB) and manage IRB process as needed
• Collaborate with research initiatives both internal and external to JBCC
• Apply implementation science and research to JBCC initiatives and external contracts
• Apply quality improvement strategies to promote positive outcomes in programs and initiatives
• Develop and monitor implementation and sustainability strategies and plans
• Develop evaluation plans and analyze implementation data for quality improvement and evaluation purposes
• Provide training, consultation and technical assistance
• Conduct research and evaluation of programs and services as needed
• Assist with and lead the development of publications, professional presentations, and research reports
• Manage project budgets & supervise project staff
• Provide oversight and monitoring for existing initiatives including reporting requirements for grants and contracts
• Ensure that funders and contractors receive all required data reports
• Work collaboratively with staff from federal and state agencies and/or behavioral health providers
• Monitor quality and fidelity of implementation activities, and help identify resources to support ongoing technical assistance, training, and continuous quality improvement
• Create and implement tracking and reporting systems for implementation initiatives
• Develop metric and outcome reports including any appropriate tables, graphs, figures and explanatory text, as applicable
• Provide any other data, statistics, analysis and reports requested by JBCC, collaborating organizations, and funders
• Translate data between statistical software programs, as needed
• Use statistical and word processing applications (e.g., Excel, SPSS, Access, Word, and PowerPoint) to manage, analyze, and report data from other data sources
• Respond to ad hoc requests for specific information and reports on the analysis and reporting of specific data
• Represent JBCC in local, regional and national forums
• Engage in special projects as directed by the CEO and/or his designate on an as needed basis
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Candidates must meet all of the requirements:
• Possess a doctoral degree in psychology, public health, social work, child development, or closely related field, with at least two years post-graduate work experience
• At least four years of experience with program implementation and/or implementation of evidence-based practices
• At least four years of experience with children’s behavioral health and associated evidence-based treatments
• Evidence of scholarly publication and research
• Must be extremely organized, efficient, and a good team player
• Keen analytic and problem-solving skills
• Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be comfortable collaborating with a range of professionals (e.g. academia, behavioral health, child welfare, juvenile justice, law enforcement)
Some or all of the following are highly desired:
• Experience with research design and evaluation, particularly implementation science research
• Experience in providing clinical services to children and families
• Experience with quality improvement of behavioral health treatments
• Experience with training in evidence-based practices
• Knowledge of the child welfare, juvenile justice, law enforcement, and/or mental health systems
• Experience with large data sets and statistical analysis using SPSS
• Experience managing grant/contract budgets
• Knowledge of traditional and innovative funding opportunities at the state and national level
• Strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership and team-building skills
• Excellent networking and communication skills
SALARY AND HOURS
Salary commensurate with experience and subject to available funding.
Projected range: 90k-120k
