Postdoctoral Fellowship at Montreal Behavioural Medicine Centre [Apply by Aug. 1, 2017]

The Montreal Behavioural Medicine Centre is accepting applications for a two-year, full-time postdoctoral fellowship with an immediate but flexible start date.
This fellowship will be directly attached to 2 specific projects: 1) An international project looking to develop targets for increasing physical activity and reducing sedentary behaviour in elderly populations (i.e., aged 65+); and 2) A national guideline development and implementation project around cardiac rehabilitation. There will also be opportunities to work with other pertinent projects within the Montreal Behavioural Medicine Centre.
This position provides individuals who have earned a doctoral degree with an opportunity for mentored training and experience in partnering with researchers who are engaged in the assessment of the impact of physical activity and sedentary behaviours in older adults, with an emphasis on conducting systematic reviews and developing guidelines for interventions. The successful applicant will work with Drs. Simon Bacon and Kim Lavoie on aspects related to the conduct of current and planned research projects, to include, but not limited to:
- Systematic reviews and meta-analyses (including Individual Participant Data [IPD] analyses)
- Quantitative data collection and analysis
- Development and implementation of guidelines
- Manuscript preparation and submission
- Community engagement
- Project development and management
- Grant writing
- Preparation of research ethics applications
Required qualifications:
- PhD in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Psychology, Public Health, or related discipline
- Experience in health behaviour research
- Experience in conducting systematic reviews and meta-analyses
- Experience interfacing with large databases, use of analytic software and statistical methods
- Demonstrated competence in critical thinking, scientific writing, and oral presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and take a lead role on projects, under supervision and guidance of a principal investigator
- Effective Communication Skills
