Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute (KPWHRI) in Seattle, Washington is seeking to fill one or more doctoral level investigator positions. Persons with interest and expertise in the following areas are particularly encouraged to apply:

  • Health Economics;
  • Aging/Dementia;
  • Nursing;
  • Cardiovascular Disease
  • Pharmacoepidemiology

The successful candidate(s) will be part of a highly collaborative, productive, multi-disciplinary scientific faculty and will be expected to build and maintain an independent, extramurally-funded research portfolio in their field of study. All applicants will be considered if their research field is well-aligned with the Institute’s mission to improve health and healthcare, with preference given to candidates at the Assistant Investigator level and working in the stated priority areas above. KPWHRI’s programmatic research areas include aging/dementia, cancer prevention, health services research, health informatics, immunizations, mental health, pharmacoepidemiology, substance abuse and nicotine dependence, and implementation science.

Qualifications

Appointment is open rank (Assistant, Associate, or Senior Investigator), but Assistant Investigator candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants must have a doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in an applicable health-related field, excellent oral and written communication skills, a strong interest in interdisciplinary collaboration, and either a track record of extramural research funding or high potential for independent research funding.
