The Value of Human-Centered Design When Creating KT Strategies

The November session of the Knowledge Translation Canada National Seminar Series will be presented by Dr. Guillermina Noel. Dr. Noel is the health knowledge designer at the Physician Learning Program (PLP) office within the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta, where she supports teams by helping them to understand the users’ needs, integrating their requirements with those of the KT team, and co-designing tools seeking to achieve impact at scale. In her spare time Dr. Noel is also the Director of the Health Design Network.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe the human-centered design approach, its process and characteristics
- Compare a KT process and a human-centered design process, and
- Apply some Human centered design concepts to plan KT strategies.
