Balancing Measures: Identifying Unintended Consequences of Diabetes Quality Performance Measures

This webinar was presented as part of the QUERI Implementation Network series. Performance measurement has become a way of life in healthcare, but as stated by the poet Robert Burns in “To a Mouse,” by: “The best laid schemes o’ mice an’ men / Gang aft a-gley.” The case of a performance measure for glycemic control in diabetes and its consequences was discussed from different perspectives.
