IMPlementation to Achieve Clinical Transformation (IMPACT) Training in Heart, Lung, Blood, and Sleep (HLBS) Disorders

The IMPACT (IMPlementation to Achieve Clinical Transformation) K12, centered at the Adult and Child Consortium for Outcomes Research and Delivery Science (ACCORDS) at the University of Colorado Denver, is a two-year career development program to prepare a diverse group of post-doctorate scholars for careers in T4 translational research with an emphasis on HLBS disorders.
A curriculum of courses, seminars, work in progress research meetings, and workshops will provide scholars with solid training in both basic T4 and health services research competencies (e.g., pragmatic trials and CER, T4 frameworks, stakeholder engagement, designs and outcomes for implementation science) and cutting edge T4 methods and approaches (e.g., designing for sustainability, adaptations to evidence based programs, practical tools and iterative assessment for community and clinical settings). In particular, IMPACT scholars will receive in depth training in application of T4 frameworks and methods including CFIR, RE-AIM, the Evidence Integration Triangle, Dynamic Sustainability Framework; the 5Rs and other models for relevant, pragmatic research; and interactive T4 science tools.
Eligibility
The ideal candidate will already have fellowship or Master’s level training in health services, translational, or public health research and will be prepared to focus on additional training in D&I research within diverse clinical settings. Additionally, applicants must:
- Have an MD or PhD in behavioral science, public health, nursing, pharmacy or related health sciences
- Be able to devote 75% or greater FTE to research and career development
- Be a US citizen or non-citizen national, or permanent resident at time of application
- Have graduate level training in statistics, research methodology, and health services research preferred
- Demonstrate interest in research career in learning health systems and pragmatic research methods preferred.
