Fireside Chat on Implementation Science & Epidemiology and Genomics Research Program (EGRP) Crossroads
Advanced Topics in Implementation Science Webinar Series Date(s): May 16, 2018 Presented by: David Chambers
As part of the Advanced Topics in Implementation Science webinar series hosted by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Division of Cancer Control & Population Sciences (DCCPS) Implementation Science Team, Dr. David Chambers will host a ‘fireside chat’ with Dr. Kathy Helzlsouer, Associate Director of the Epidemiology and Genomics Research Program (EGRP) and Chief Medical Officer for the National Cancer Institute’s (NCI) Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences (DCCPS) to discuss the interface between implementation science and EGRP activities. EGRP-supported research seeks to understand determinants of cancer occurrence and outcomes. EGRP fosters interdisciplinary collaborations, supports epidemiological and genomic research studies, and stimulates the development and use of resources and technologies to advance cancer research and its translation to serve as the basis for clinical and public health interventions. Drs. Chambers and Helzlsouer will touch on where IS and EGRP staff are already building programs together, training initiatives, and future opportunities for collaboration.
The session will include approximately 40 minutes of discussion from the speakers and 20 minutes for engaged discussion and Q&A with the audience.
