Position:

The Department of Health Policy and Management (http://sph.unc.edu/hpm/), Gillings School of Global Public Health (http://sph.unc.edu/), University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), seeks candidates for up to two full-time tenured/tenure-track faculty positions in decision science, health policy and politics, implementation science, or healthcare management. The mission of the top-ranked Department of Health Policy and Management is to improve health for all by creating and translating knowledge into policy and practice and educating current and future health leaders, managers, policymakers, practitioners, and researchers.  The Department is situated in the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, which is ranked second by U.S. News and World Report.  The Department and the School are committed to enhancing the diversity and inclusiveness of the community and curriculum.  HPM and SPH faculty are investigators in many UNC research centers and programs including the Sheps Center for Health Services Research (http://www.shepscenter.unc.edu/), Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center (https://unclineberger.org/), Center for Pharmacoepidemiology (http://pharmacoepi.unc.edu/), and North Carolina Translational and Clinical Sciences Institute (https://tracs.unc.edu/). Collaborations are also encouraged with other research institutions such as the Research Triangle Institute (https://www.rti.org/), Duke University, and NC State University.

Education Requirements and Experience:

The applicant must have: (1) a PhD (or similar doctoral-level degree); (2) a research focus in decision science, health policy and politics, implementation science, or healthcare management; (3) strong research skills and publication record in peer-reviewed journals; (4) proven record of grant-funded scholarship (Full and Associate level), or high potential for extramural research funding (Assistant level); and (5) the ability and willingness to teach and advise graduate and/or undergraduate students.  Successful applicants at the Full or Associate Professor rank may have an opportunity to direct one of our academic programs.
