Postdoctoral Fellowship in Behavioral Health Dissemination & Implementation Research, Stanford School of Medicine

The Stanford University School of Medicine Center for Behavioral Health Services and Implementation Research (CBHSIR) invites applicants for a postdoctoral fellowship in mental health and addiction treatment dissemination & implementation (D&I) research. Applications are being accepted now for a Spring 2021 start.

Stanford CBHSIR applies and advances D&I science to solve major problems in health and care delivery. Their mission is to get the best care to the people who need it.

Active projects cluster in 5 major domains:

1. Expanding equitable access to proven pharmacological and psychosocial treatments for addiction and psychiatric disorders in health systems and organizations;
2. Integrating sustainable models of behavioral health in routine medical practice settings including primary care and emergency departments;
3. Eliminating and reducing behavioral health care disparities for underrepresented groups;
4. Enhancing the science of D&I by developing standardized measures and methods that foster replication and generalizability of findings; and
5. Building D&I expert capacity through mentorship, consultation and training, resource development and sharing, and collaborative partnerships, including by serving as the National Coordinating Office for the Mental Health Technology Transfer Center Network of 10 Regional Centers, a National Hispanic and Latino Center, and a National American Indian and Alaska Native Center.

CBHSIR is based in the Division of Public Mental Health and Population Sciences, Department of Psychiatry, and the Division of Primary Care and Population Health, Department of Medicine, at the Stanford University School of Medicine. Stanford is an outstanding academic and research environment, situated in a highly desirable area of Northern California and the US. The fellow will gain advanced research training in D&I science, contributing to existing projects and developing their personal research programs. Mentorship will be provided by Drs. Mark McGovern and Heather Gotham, with extensive opportunities to collaborate with other Stanford faculty and Centers. Competitive candidates should have: 1) an MD or PhD; 2) a strong research background; and 3) interest in pursuing an academic career. Interpersonal comfort in groups and enjoying a cohesive team also are highly important for this role. We are open to remote work during this time, with the expectation that the candidate relocates to Stanford when possible.
