Assistant or Associate Professor of Clinical Science, Virginia Tech Department of Psychology
The Department of Psychology, College of Science, Virginia Tech, invites applications for one Assistant or Associate tenured/tenure-track faculty position in Clinical Science to begin August 2021 in their nationally recognized (2017 ABCT Outstanding Training Program) and dually accredited (APA and PCSAS) doctoral program. Virginia Tech’s clinical science area emphasizes the integration of science and practice in research and training and highly values efficacy and effectiveness research, dissemination and implementation science, health improvement, and preventive intervention across the lifespan.
In order to complement existing strengths, VT is especially interested in candidates with a translational program of research that focuses on sociocultural mechanisms of mental health, health disparities, intervention efficacy and effectiveness, transdiagnostic mechanisms, and/or dissemination and implementation in community and school settings. They are seeking clinical scientists with a successful track record in research, obtaining (or potential for obtaining) extramural funding, and teaching effectiveness. Candidates will be expected to conduct programmatic research, teach graduate and undergraduate courses, mentor undergraduate and doctoral students, supervise clinical practicum, and engage in department, college, and university-level service activities.
