Post‐Doctoral Fellow in Addiction Health Services Research/Implementation Services, The University of Connecticut School of Medicine

The University of Connecticut School of Medicine is recruiting a full‐time Post‐Doctoral Fellow. The person filling this position will have recently completed or expect to soon complete their doctoral studies in the social/behavioral, public health, or health sciences. The postdoctoral fellowship will focus on projects that aim to improve the system of care for substance use disorders, including implementation of technology tools for health and addiction care settings, improving retention and use of evidence-based practices, and implementation of measurement-based care and quality improvement. Projects emphasize implementation science and state-academic partnerships.

Responsibilities and project assignments will vary depending on the fellow’s interests and professional development goals, but may include: collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, developing and leading manuscripts, engagement with study academic, policy and practice partners, developing and troubleshooting study protocols, and contributing to new grant development. There will be opportunities to engage with state agencies, health systems, community-based organizations, and academic partners within and outside of UConn.

Priority is for applicants with: a) evidence of scholarship in health services research, implementation science, substance use/addiction, or behavioral health (e.g., publications, presentations, grant submissions), b) excellent scientific writing ability, c) interpersonal skills that foster collaboration, d) ability to use statistical packages for quantitative and qualitative analysis (e.g., SPSS, SAS, Atlas.ti) and e) ability to produce verbal and written communications appropriate for a range of audiences. Skills and/or desire to learn in the following areas preferred: qualitative interviewing and analysis, mixed methods approaches, and implementation science.

This is a full‐time (12‐month) position. The position can last for up to three years. Start date is negotiable (doctoral degree must be in hand by start date).
