Implementation Scientist, Veterans Affairs (VA) Center for Clinical Management Research
The Center for Clinical Management Research at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System is seeking a full-time Implementation Scientist with experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and leading research within the Dissemination and Implementation (D&I) field. This is a full-time position with the Veteran’s Affairs (VA) Maintaining Implementation through Dynamic Adaptations (MIDAS) Quality Enhancement Research Initiative (QUERI) program located within the Center for Clinical Management Research (CCMR) in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
The ideal candidate will have experience developing, testing, and expanding methods and strategies based on Quality Improvement, Implementation Science, and/or other related fields with optimal impact for patients, employees, and leaders. Additionally, the candidate should have demonstrated commitment to creating a working environment for inclusive learning.
Successful candidates will benefit from work already underway within the MIDAS QUERI program designed to develop, refine, and test multiple implementation strategies to improve patient safety by reducing inappropriate use of medications across a range of topics. The candidate will leverage the program’s strong portfolio of existing projects and foster scholarly initiatives with operational partners and researchers to improve implementation science methods and application through externally funded research grants. The candidate will have the opportunity to work within the largest mission-driven integrated health system in the U.S. and with a strong network of researchers and partners across a wide range of healthcare settings and disciplines.
Requirements: Candidates with a doctoral degree in implementation science, public health, social science, business (with health/medical focus), psychology, social work, or related fields with experience in research, implementation, or evaluation initiatives in healthcare-related settings will be considered. Must be highly motivated, organized, and have a track record of inclusive learning and teaming with staff across diverse backgrounds.
Additionally, strong technical writing and verbal/public speaking communication skills with an ability to build and maintain relationships with key partners is required.
Above all, the ideal candidate should be passionate about implementation science methods and applications within healthcare systems. U.S. citizenship is required.
Position: Implementation Scientist, Center for Clinical Management Research, VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Full-time. Salary range: GS 13 ($108,532 to $141,089), commensurate with experience. Benefits included. Start date to be negotiated. Remote work with periodic travel to Ann Arbor and potential locality pay area adjustments can be discussed.
